Double Sunflower Seed Granola [Nut Free!]
The great thing about sunflower seed butter in granola is that it mostly imparts a rich, nutty, salty taste—which granola typically already has! It ends up just tasting like an ~enhanced~ granola.
PB2 Yogurt Frosting
Have you ever wanted to top your oatmeal with a pillow of creamy frosting? But you don’t want to give up your beloved peanut butter?
Here’s a great compromise. This topping is easy to make, requiring just plain yogurt and PB2 (and a drop of vanilla extract, if you’d like). (more…)
Topping: Cinnamon-Tahini Icing [Guest Post]
Hi fellow oatmeal lovers!
My name is Kasia (@cathyhope9 on Instagram), and I’m honored to be sharing my second recipe on The Oatmeal Artist’s blog (first one was Cherry Chili Brownie Baked Oatmeal).
I love Lauren’s weekly themes. They save me from daily dilemma: what oatmeal am I going to have for breakfast?! When one of themes was cinnamon I knew I had to make:
- apple pie oatmeal,
- cinnamon roll oatmeal.
I’ve had apple pie thousands times before but… the problem was cinnamon roll. They are not popular in Poland where I am from, and I have never tried one. I couldn’t copy the flavor I didn’t know. So I searched for the recipe for the stove-top Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal, and TheVegan8 recipe was what I was looking for! (more…)
Mango Oatmeal with Sriracha PB2
You know what’s extra great about this recipe? It’s a really simple oatmeal topped with a really simple PB2. The oatmeal is oats + mango, and the topping is PB2 + Sriracha. Maravilloso, right?!

Peach-Cherry Oatmeal with Avocado
Oatmeal with avocado? Sounds bizarre, I know. But I’ve done it before (Grapefruit Avocado Oatmeal) and I loved it. I’ve been plotting my next avocado recipe for years. Years!!!
Strawberry Cardamom Oatmeal with Coconut-Cashew Butter
I will not rest until I add cardamom to every single thing I can think of. One day I will have an entire cardamom section of my blog. <3
Muddy Buddies Oatmeal
Or Puppy Chow Oatmeal. Or Monkey Munch Oatmeal. My family called it puppy chow, but I think it’s more widely known as muddy buddies, so that’s what I’ll name it.
Whatever you know it as, it’s the same thing: a “Chex”-type cereal coated in peanut butter and melted chocolate, and then tossed in powdered sugar. How did I turn this into “healthy” oatmeal? I didn’t. I tried, and it didn’t work. This is one of those go-for-it-or-pick-a-different-recipe kind of posts.
Don’t you dare skip the powdered sugar.
Cinnamon Raisin PB2
Does this oatmeal look familiar to you? It should! It’s actually Monday’s Cardamom Butternut Squash Oatmeal.
I wanted to top this oatmeal with cinnamon raisin peanut butter, but I had just finished my jar of it. Then I remembered I could recreate it with PB2.
Cantaloupe Date Oatmeal with Mint-Melon Relish
These oats are ~classy AF~
This relish is like a dessert pico de gallo, with cantaloupe instead of tomato and mint instead of cilantro. The purpose of a relish is to add a strong flavor to a dish, and this does just that. It can guarantee maximum flavor and freshness, and it’s a fun way to spruce up a simpler oatmeal.
